Half Way Through:

Half Life 2 Review

Half Life 2 Box Art

As of the start of this project I have completed the first 9 levels of the game, and I have to say that I am enjoying it quite a bit.
But enough of this, lets get onto the review.

Some Thoughts by Aspect

Category Thoughts
Graphics By 2019 standards the graphics in this game are not cutting edge.
They do however, hold up very well today and framerates are very high on modern hardware.
Performance Like I said earlier, graphical performance in this game is very good; however, the load times are pretty slow (around 20-40 seconds on a hard drive), which break up the otherwise well connected gameplay.
Sound The sound design makes every action you take feel very impactful and adds a whole lot of enjoyment to the game.
AI The sound, movement, and effectiveness of the enemy ai makes it feel like a real living opposition.
On the other hand, the friendly ai, mostly in the form of the friendly squad can be very annoying as they stand in you way and in a vain attempt try and appologise and move out of the way.
