Real Talks
Lakeside School
What is Real Talks?
A Real Talk is an informal speech about a personal experience or intrest given by a member of the Lakeside community in front of a group of their peers. The program was founded by Bryan Smith (former Assistant Director of the Upper School) and a group of students who were dedicated to breaking down the barriers of a highly competitive school environment. Real Talks is run by students leaders and two faculty advisors (Rachel Maiorano and Emily Chu). Every year, vacancies on the committee are filled by the leadership through an application and referral process. The talks typically take place on thursday during activity period in Kent Evans.
