Description:


In this experiment, you will be exploring how to build the strongest and tallest structures using gummy candy and toothpicks. Try to think about which shapes would make your tower more sturdy and strong. When you are done, test how many books you can stack on top of your tower before it breaks.

Materials:


  • Gummy Candy (gumdrops or gummy bears)

  • Toothpicks

  • Heavy books

  • Ruler

Instructions:


1. Option 1: build the tallest tower you can with a set number of toothpicks and candy.

2. Option 1: build the tallest tower you can with unlimited toothpicks and candy within 15 minutes.

3. Start building!

4. When you are done, measure the height of your tower and test how much weight it can carry!
